The 25th China Xiamen International Stone Fair will be held on March 16-19, 2024 at Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center (XICEC). As a concurrently held design exhibition, the 7th Stone Infinite Product Design Show will collaborate with 8 leading designers to admire the beauty of stone and tap into its infinite possibilities. 

Stone Infinite Product Design Show is the place where top stone brands gather and trend to be released. 8 excellent designers from China will highlight stone application with their creativity. You will find spaces in this feast of stone and design from minimalism style to retro style and from space aesthetics to life philosophy.

For interior designers, stone is a good "partner" for our projects. Everyone has his/her own way of using stone. At Stone Infinite Product Design Show, 8 designers will gather together to present their understanding and application of stone in their works, from materials, products to spaces.

The 8 participating designers are DAI Kun, HUANG Quan, JU Bin, LIANG Jianguo, MENG Ye, PANG Xi, SUN Jianhua and ZENG Jianlong. We chose "Home" as the subject for 2025 edition.

Curatorial Designers and Their Interpretation on Home

DAI Kun：Home is where human live. As time evolves, simple functional requirements can no longer meet people's expectations of housing. Today, the indicators of judgment of a home, in addition to satisfying the needs of everyday life, also lies in a balance of multiple contradictions and complexity, including order and flexibility of space, rituals and relaxation, public and private, society and private life, art and routine life, etc. 

HUANG Quan：I have been hoping to find something uncertainty in design, which could be mood changes caused by spatial shapes, behavioral changes caused by design, or the instability that the materials have. These uncertainties endow design with possibilities and imagination, while the innovation of materials changes the stereotypes, which brings an entirely new experience. Stone is exactly the material that we are looking for. Whether it is marble, granite or slate, stone makes the space a unparalleled one. Through design, stone will be presented diversified characteristics of hard and soft, cold and warm, gorgeous and restrained. The innovation of stone will always have unlimited possibilities.

JU Bin：Follow your heart, and good will is the basis of good design.

LIANG Jianguo：In Chinese ancient culture, stone is deemed as an elegant decoration for a house. The unique texture of stone is the memory of the flow of time, showing its natural, simple and natural attributes.With design, stone infuses space in a new design form, giving home the most unique memory and exploring more possibilities of space design.

MENG Ye：For me, every design is an accidental necessity, which is an interesting thing. We will meet different owners with various types of houses. The needs and requirements for house decoration of each owner varies. And that is what I found challenging and exciting about designing.

Likewise, the random veins of natural stone is full of surprises. Its rich look makes each slate of stone unique that it can be fit in luxurious style or minimalism space. All the characteristics are great supports for interior design. Surprises are always welcomed, and stone is a surprise during my design processes, driving me keep exploring, innovating and moving forward.

PANG Xi：Stone has always been appreciated by ancient Chinese literati because the beauty of stone is in line with the spirit of traditional Chinese aesthetic culture.

Stone comes from nature, but for those who live in cities, it is a connection between land and nature. Stone is an ornament in the home, giving the space boundless inspirations. Every shape and vein is the result of natural craftsmanship. With its decorations in the home, the ambience of the space is enhanced as to be immersed in the nature.

SUN Jianhua：Whether it's in Eastern or Western cultures, stone plays an irreplaceable role in building a home. The history of Western ancient architecture is basically the history of stone buildings. In China, stone is applied from the foundation of a building to the ground, walls, windows, and doors. Today, with the emergence of various new materials, we are also facing a re-evaluation and innovative thinking about the relationship between stone materials and people's lives.

Traditionally, the role of stone materials as an indestructible body is gradually being weakened - this trend cannot be changed. However, the aesthetics and symbolism of stone produced by mechanics and structure have been constantly refined and precipitated over a long period of construction history. This profound influence has made us unable to shake off our attachment to stone when we build a home space and living scene in today's urban environment.

ZENG Jianlong：Home is the harbor, a place to cherish emotions and memories. In the space of home, we want to create a comfortable, warm, and personalized space that resonates with the owner's personality. It has infinite possibilities in terms of aesthetics due to the differences in personality and family composition.

Stone, as an ancient and enduring material, plays a crucial role in shaping our living space. Each person's use and understanding of stone will differ due to their different ways of thinking. For space, stone is not only a hard building material, but also an expression of warmth. It adds a natural texture and unique charm to the home space. For the naturalness and artistry of stone, we can design and reshape it to create a unique atmosphere at home. For me, the natural colors and texture variations of stone are the endless source of inspiration for my creations and explorations in space and product design.
